DAA #1
Purpose.
The purpose of Metaversity® is the promotion of science and research, in particular of virtual educational services (e.g., from universities, colleges, or private educational institutions), which are developed and provided within the framework of decentralized-autonomously organized technical platforms (DAO, Blockchain, Metaverse).
DAA #2
Support.
Metaversity® supports the development and maintenance of the necessary technology as well as the members and students involved in Metaversity®. Metaversity® follows a decentralized and democratic approach with flat hierarchies.
DAA #3
DAO.
Metaversity® is built on Ethereum-based smart contracts as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). In order to vote, each member is required to own at least one (1) Metaversity® token (=0,01 Ether). Additional Metaversity® tokens may be issued for material or non-material member contributions.

The Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is an organization built to endure, consisting of a multitude of smart contracts that are managed and executed in a decentralized, blockchain-based manner in the digital world ("on chain"). In doing so, DAOs not only collect capital, but redefine the coexistence of capital, ideas, and human productive forces in today's knowledge and creative economy by enabling meritocratic participation of their members. This article deals with the question whether and under which conditions a decentralized and autonomous (ideal) association in the sense of § 21 BGB ("Decentralized Autonomous Association" - DAA) can act de lege lata for the DAO, which is unknown to German law, in the external relationship and at the same time limit the liability of the DAO participants. In addition, the article provides suggestions for the wording of the articles of association of a DAA.
